Welcome to Indian Territory Society of the MOSB.
Thank you for visiting our
website.
The Indian Territory Society is committed to staying focused on and continuing
the mission laid out for us by our forefathers: locating and maintaining the
graves of the officers and elected officials of the Confederacy and
preserving the battlefields and historical sites where they gained so much
of their fame.
After the war,
Robert E. Lee instructed Southerners not to train up their children in hostility to the government of the United States. Lee said,
"Remember, we are all one country now. Dismiss from your mind all sectional feeling, and bring them up to be Americans." His old soldiers were true to
their commander. They rebuilt a nation.
My question is, what about us today? Will we be true to them? Are we willing
to let their final resting places and the fields on which they won glory be
lost to time and development?
The Military Order of the Stars and Bars is a patriotic Society comprised of
male descendants of the officers who honorably served in the military of the
Confederate States of America and the male descendants of
the elected and appointed officials of the Confederate Executive and
Legislative branches of government. If you are eligible for membership and
share our interest in remembering the deeds of these men, we invite you to
join our organization.
